A weekend with Crystal

I did nothing crafty this weekend, instead I planted a garden and help my dad change out the motor mounts on my car.  So I'm going to tell you a little about my weekend!

On Friday it was just busy, I went grocery shopping at my local wal-mart I had to get some stuff for the garden.Considering the fact that the day before I had just bought all my veggie plants,so now if I had a change of heart it was to late........  So after I did my weekly shopping for my necessities I decided to go to Joann's and Michael's.  I'm glad that I took the time to go at least craft shopping,I found some really good deals at both stores.  It's now late Friday evening and I'm starting to really think about how much work I got myself into with this garden. Anyways Saturday comes and I have to go get the rotor tiller that I had rented so I could get the ground work done.  As you can see from the pic's below my dad and Dylan (my little brother) did all that work for me.

Which I'm so grateful for I just love my family.  And as you can see from the other pic my mom,Courtney(my little sister),and Ashley(my sister in law to be) just sat at the table talking, but that OK.  It was so nice to have the whole family out there helping me or supporting me-either way I will take it I just love my family.

And Jason cut the grass, but had to get ready for work,he works a closing shift on Saturday's so he didn't have time to help with the garden.  But in all reality he did because he makes the money(LOL).

After we get the ground tore up my dad was like OK so ahead and rake that area.

While needless to say I didn't have the right kind of rake so I had to go to Lowe's and get a rake and some other stuff for the garden.  The joys of being new homeowners,I can't tell you how many times I've had to stop what I was doing and make a quick run to Lowe's.  So I get back from Lowe's get the garden raked and start planting, well guess what happens next yep that right I run out of daylight so I guess I will have to finish on Sunday.  Sunday's here finished up the planting, put the fence up around the garden and done! Aaaah a sigh of relieve all that work and it's finally done. Looking good but forgot to take a couple of pic so I will do that on Monday and hopefully get them posted.  Since we got done with the garden early enough dad was like well lets get those motor mounts changed.  So the mounts on my one car are really easy to replace.  My dad had one done in no joke 10 minutes, and the other in 25 minutes.  So I say dad since were up here why don't we change the wires on my other car.  Dad like OK they shouldn't take that long, well guess what they gave me the wrong part at the car shop.  So we didn't get those done, will have to finished them up tomorrow.  Well that was my weekend no crafty stuff for me.  Have a great day and stop back.  Until next have a great day Bye!

My Fav's Layout

Well I have another layout completed I cannot believe it. For this layout I decided to participate in mercy tiara’s layout challenge she had going on, on her YouTube channel. This challenge closed on May 11, 2013. And of course I decided to wait until the last minute to participate in it. The rules for the challenge were to 1.) Choose a topic 2.)Use at least three sentences of handwritten journaling 3.) Use thickers 4.) Use wood veneers 5.) And have layers.  For the topic parts you can choose from three different topics that Tracy had picked out. Option 1) was –how you got started in scrapbooking, Option2) was-how you got your screen name or blog name, Option3) was-what your favorite scrapping goodies are.  I chose to create a layout about my favorite scrapping goodies

I decided that the title for this layout was going to be called my fav’s.  I chose to use three pictures for this layout. The first picture is of my silhouette cameo machine, the second picture is of a recent haul, the final picture is of my desk when I am in the middle of making a layout. Now some people would wonder why I had chosen to use the picture of my messy table for a favorite picture. The answer is quite simple if you look at the picture you would see my ATG gun, Tim Holtz scissors, ink pads, stamps, and spray mist, and those are a lot of my favorite things.

Some of the supplies that I used for this layouts was we r memory keepers love to craft collection, foam thickers, studio calico wood veneers-hearts and arrows, dylusions ink spray in bubblegum pink, dear Lizzie Roller date stamp, and paper tray Inc. sketched shapes die for the banner. I will also include at the bottom of this post a process video of me making the layouts. Thank you so much for taking the time of the day, to stop over and look at my blog. I really do appreciate it and it means so much to me. Feel free to leave me a comment, visit my YouTube channel and become a subscriber, or join me on any of my social Medias. So until next time have a great day! Bye

Captured layout

Happy belated Mother’s Day everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe day with their family. Today I have another layout from our trip to the pumpkin patch. I have used a sketch for the building blocks of this layout. The sketch is from www. 52sketches 52week.com and it is sketch number 49.
As you can see below I followed the sketch very loosely. I started this layout off with a piece of cream-colored stock from JoAnn, and I matted all of my patterned paper with the black card stock from JoAnn’s. All of the patterned paper on this layout is from the October afternoon witch hazel collection. Actually the washy tape, chipboard die cut, library card, and the letter stickers are all from the October afternoon witch hazel collection. I have also decided to use some wood veneers, the heart and cameras are from studio calico. The heart wood veneer is colored with the dylusions bubblegum pink ink spray. I also used some Heidi swapp color shine in the color tinsel to do a little bit of splattering all over the layout. To help pull the whole layout together I decided to ink all the edges, with distress ink in walnuts stain. And one last final thing that I had did on the layout was in each of the camera lens I drew in a small pink heart, to help coincide with the with heart veneer I had used earlier on the photo.  The title of this layout is called captured, and the reason behind that is it is very hard for me to get a picture of just my mom and dad together. So that’s where the title came from with this layout.
I would have to say I’m very happy with getting back into scrap booking. Even though it has been a bit challenging, but I’m starting to get back into the groove of it and it’s coming along a little bit easier with each layout that I do. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to take a look at my blog. I really do appreciate it. Feel free to check out my YouTube channel or on any of my other social media sites. Again thank you so much and until next time have a wonderful day! Bye
