Captured layout

Happy belated Mother’s Day everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe day with their family. Today I have another layout from our trip to the pumpkin patch. I have used a sketch for the building blocks of this layout. The sketch is from www. 52sketches 52week.com and it is sketch number 49.
As you can see below I followed the sketch very loosely. I started this layout off with a piece of cream-colored stock from JoAnn, and I matted all of my patterned paper with the black card stock from JoAnn’s. All of the patterned paper on this layout is from the October afternoon witch hazel collection. Actually the washy tape, chipboard die cut, library card, and the letter stickers are all from the October afternoon witch hazel collection. I have also decided to use some wood veneers, the heart and cameras are from studio calico. The heart wood veneer is colored with the dylusions bubblegum pink ink spray. I also used some Heidi swapp color shine in the color tinsel to do a little bit of splattering all over the layout. To help pull the whole layout together I decided to ink all the edges, with distress ink in walnuts stain. And one last final thing that I had did on the layout was in each of the camera lens I drew in a small pink heart, to help coincide with the with heart veneer I had used earlier on the photo.  The title of this layout is called captured, and the reason behind that is it is very hard for me to get a picture of just my mom and dad together. So that’s where the title came from with this layout.
I would have to say I’m very happy with getting back into scrap booking. Even though it has been a bit challenging, but I’m starting to get back into the groove of it and it’s coming along a little bit easier with each layout that I do. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to take a look at my blog. I really do appreciate it. Feel free to check out my YouTube channel or on any of my other social media sites. Again thank you so much and until next time have a wonderful day! Bye

Pumpkin Patch Layout

So it's been a month since my last post.  I have been busy creating other stuff, just haven't shared any lately.  This past weekend I decided to start scrapping again.  It has been so long since I actually sat down and made more than one layout.  For the post I'm going to share my 1st layout i had created.
I titled this page "out trip to the pumpkin patch" I didn't actually spell out pumpkin ,I put a chip board sticker of one in it's place.  Everything on this page except for the journaling spot and the date banner is from the October afternoon witch hazel collection.  The other 2 things are from Elle's studio.I'm really happy with the way this turned out.  Hopefully I will be able to post tomorrow about the 2nd page.  So until next time have a great day and bye!!!!

Easter Blessing Card

Good morning everybody before I get to today’s card I would just like to share a picture of my current weather conditions we have going on here in Western Pennsylvania. I know its spring time so let’s bring on the sunshine and get rid of the snow.

Okay so for today’s card I had made for the Simon says stampEaster Spring challenge, that is currently going on over at the Simon says stamp challenge blog. So for this challenge they are also featuring the memory box dies however it is not mandatory to use for the challenge. This is great for me because I only own two memory box dies!
I had decided to make a 5.5 x 5.5 square Easter card. The card base is made with a lavender color card stock that I have picked up from Michael’s, is the recollection brand called pastel card stock paper pack. All of the pattern paper is from doodlebug designs 6 x 6 pad called hello spring. The stamped image is from CC designs called masterpiece. And that sentiment is from the Amy R stamps called eggstra special sentiments. I had also used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. And for the inks I had used staz on jet black for the image and, versa fine onyx black for the sentiments.

So for this card I stepped out of my comfort zone a little bit, and decided to do a little bit of water coloring which I have never done before.  I have stamp out the image using the staz on ink on some watercolor paper and pull out my watercolor sets and went to town coloring. Since this was my first time water coloring I am really happy with the way it turned out.

As I have said before with all my cards I tried to make the inside of the card coincide with the front of the card. I had just used some scraps that I had left over from the front and also added some butterflies on the inside as well.

Good luck to everyone who is participating in this challenge. And if you’re reading this on my blog go check out Simon says stamp challenge blog and play along with this challenge you have until Wednesday, March 27, 2013 to enter. As always thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day and until next time bye everyone!

Egg-stra special card

Update: added video at end of post!!!!

Hello everyone and welcome to today’s card!  So I created this card for the all that scraps challenge blog, this biweekly challenge was an anything that goes. To participate and find out the rules check out their challenge blog by clicking HERE. One of their main rules is that you must use a CC designs stamp, examples Amy R, Mashi Muffins, Sweet November, Lilipad &Lolitas, and Webbies word. The prize for this challenge is 5 CC designs digi stamps.

I decided to make a 5.5 x 5.5 square card with a white card base. Yellow card stock I used as matting is from recollections pastel card stock pack from Michael’s. The yellow plaid card stock is again from recollections pastel printed card stock collection. The rest of the pattern paper is from doodlebug 6x6 pattern paper pack called hello spring. The stamped image is from CC designs called cracked Lula, I colored her hair, face, and outfit with copics, I paper pieced the egg with the yellow plaid paper. These sentiments are from Amy R eggstra special sentiments set. I have also used two different dies on this card, the eggs are from CC designs called eggs, and the die I used for the sentiments is from papertreyink called boutique boarders mother die.  The image was stamp out using memento tuxedo Black ink, and the sentiments were stamp out using Versa fine onyx black ink.

I really enjoyed making this card. I think this card came out super cute. When I’m designing my cards I like the inside of the card to coincide with the front of the card as you can see with the picture below. I do have a video of me putting together this card. I just have to get it edited and uploaded to YouTube, but in the meantime I figured I would get this blog post done. Good luck to everyone who is participating in the challenge! And there is still some time to enter if you haven’t already the deadline for this challenge is March 26, 2013. As always thank you so much for stopping by my blog today and until next time Bye!
